Our Mission

Alaskans Together for Medicaid is a nonpartisan, statewide coalition made up of nurses, doctors, health care providers, Medicaid recipients, hospitals and community health centers, faith and community leaders, and advocacy groups.

We believe that despite geographic, financial and cultural barriers, all Alaskans deserve health care coverage that meets the needs of low-income adults, children, pregnant women, elderly adults and people with disabilities.

Furthermore, we know that Medicaid, including Medicaid Expansion, bridges the divide in Alaska for those working but don’t receive health care coverage through their employer, over half of Alaskan children through Denali Kid Care, those in substance recovery programs, people with disabilities and elders that need supportive care, and over half of the births that occur in Alaska.

Our mission is to preserve and improve Alaska’s Medicaid program.
